Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Payroll Director to oversee the Payroll function for multiple facilities and provide assistance and training to the Payroll team. The Payroll Director 's duties include Managing the Corporate payroll team and all payroll related activities, collaborating with human resources, payroll and accounting departments, consulting with facility payroll staff, ensuring efficient payroll processing and working on global payroll and HR related projects and audits.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Manage Corporate payroll team
• Provide direct Payroll support to Administrators and Payroll staff in multiple facilities
• Work with the accounting team to set up new payroll and GL coding, fix any errors, and provide data for financial statement preparation
• Monitor and understand payroll trends and fluctuations and their impact on corporate financials, provide reporting and notify management when appropriate
• Perform payroll audits
• Oversight of global PTO accruals
• Manage any payroll and HR system changes and integrations
• Coordinate with benefits enrollment company and 401k providers to ensure seamless integration of HRIS and payroll systems, managing the flow of employee information, deductions, and related reporting between platforms.
• Assist upper management with investigations on issues with legal implications
• Work with Payroll and HR team on Payroll/HR related projects
• Ensure reconcilliation of insurance bills and payroll deductions
• Interpret policy to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Assist on coordination of benefits and payroll for facility employees
• Assist on coordination of paid and unpaid leave for facility employees
• Ensure that agency hours are recording in the payroll system for PBJ purposes
• PBJ review and filing
• Process year-end tax related forms
• Act as liaison between Payroll/HRIS system vendor and management
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills and Education:
• High School Diploma (required), Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• 5+ years experience as a payroll processor
• Healthcare experience preferred; long term care experience highly preferred
• 3+ years in a supervisory role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong math and analytical skills
