Position Title: Detox and Residential Nurse RN
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Detox and Residential Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-quality medical care and support to clients undergoing detoxification and residential treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the RN ensures client safety, monitors medical conditions, administers medications, and offers compassionate care in alignment with treatment plans and facility protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Care:
- Provide direct nursing care to clients in detox and residential settings during overnight hours.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, including vitals, withdrawal symptom monitoring, and risk evaluations.
- Administer medications per physician orders, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) as applicable.
- Monitor clients for adverse reactions to medications or changes in condition, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Document all care provided in compliance with medical and legal standards.
Facility Support:
- Ensure the safety and security of clients by conducting regular room checks and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Collaborate with the on-call medical team for urgent issues or changes in care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Participate in shift change reports and communicate effectively with day staff.

Compliance and Best Practices:

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with behavioral health staff, counselors, and medical providers to align nursing care with the overall treatment goals.
- Provide education to clients about their medications, withdrawal symptoms, and overall health.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license in [State].
- Experience:
- Preferred: Experience in detox, substance use treatment, behavioral health, or a similar setting.
- New graduates with a strong interest in addiction and mental health nursing are encouraged to apply.
- Certifications:
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).
- Advanced certifications (e.g., CARN, ACLS) are a plus.
