The dietary aide performs a variety of duties in the kitchen such as cleaning work tables, meat block, refrigerator, and grease trays; sweeping and mopping floors; obtaining and distributing supplies and utensils; watching and stirring cooking foods to prevent burning. Carries dirty cooking utensils to be washed; returns cleaned cooking utensils. Carries out garbage. Delivers food trays to dining room and collects dirty dishes from tables. May assist in setting up trays, tables and dishing up food and desserts at meal time. May relieve cooks of simpler duties to gain familiarity with kitchen procedure, such as cut, peel and wash fruits and vegetables; make toast and beverages. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen equipment and kitchen area; assisting where needed.
